With 2023 just around the corner, small businesses and residents of Boise got a nice boost. As part of the American Rescue Plan, the mayor and city council approved about $2 million in funding that will get directly to local business leaders and benefit entire communities.
Applications for relief funding are underway and are designed to address the remaining challenges some businesses continue to face in light of the pandemic. Recognizing that local business is the backbone of the Boise economy, civic leaders celebrated the assistance as a way to keep things moving in the right direction, especially entering a new year. The quick action is a testament to how well the Boise community looks out for one another. Supporting local business and local consumers are top priorities.
United Way of Treasure Valley is also getting involved. Through their partnership with the city, mini grants of $4,000 will be available to small business owners. The focus is to provide help to businesses that were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Employers with fewer than 20 workers and sales under $1 million have a chance to apply for the loan program, which closes Jan. 31, 2023.
United Way of Treasure Valley issued a statement indicating its enthusiastic support and willingness to administer the grants, which will strengthen local business and advance the recovery.
