Another location of the wildly popular il Sugo Kitchen, known for its secret Italian pasta sauces and authentic approach to pasta, just opened its doors for business in Meridian.
Located at 1407 W. McMillan Road, the Italian concept restaurant first began letting its customers pick their pasta and sauce in 2019 in Boise. The Boise restaurant grew from a sandwich shop business into what it is today: one of the region’s favorite Italian comfort food destinations.
Since its inception, il Sugo Kitchen has expanded its menu with new items such as chicken parmesan and risotto dishes.
Translated into English, the restaurant’s name means “the sauce;” il Sugo has its own sauce made of rich roasted-pork with pork jus, mushrooms and sage.
The menu of house-made sauces and locally crafted pastas also includes puttanesca, spicy arrabbiata, Bolognese, Italian sausage, Northender veggie, chicken carbonara and several others, including deconstructed lasagna.
The Italian sausage pasta features crumbled sausage, mushrooms, spices and rich cream sauce. The heart Bolognese is made with the family meat sauce.
For each sauce, customers can pick from pappardelle, fettuccine, linguine, penne or radiatori. For an additional charge, customers can pile on some meatballs or chicken.
For starters, customers can order a caprese, beet, Caesar or mixed green salad. Starter items span from mussels to bruschetta and Italian meatballs.
Italian wines that go with any dish and the dessert tartufo are also on the menu.
