Big summer of celebration planned in Boise

After missing out on so much, Boise is getting ready for a Summer of Celebration.

Mayor Lauren McLean and the Boise Parks and Recreation Department unveiled an exciting lineup, including a fireworks spectacular event on July 4.

The Fourth of July event celebrates the beginning of a new chapter. As the region recovers and makes important progress, this is just what we need. The celebration on July 4 will feature state-of-the-art pyrotechnics at Ann Morrison Park. Residents can once again take part in this tradition. So bring your blankets and enjoy the show. Social distancing guidelines will be in place for everyone’s health and safety.

The big show starts at 10:15 p.m. Remember to bring your outside food and drinks because vendors will not participate this time around. Get more details about the event and parking here.

More summer fun by the pool

Boise is also rolling out the red carpet at its city pools.

Beginning June 11, you can bring your swimsuits, trunks and beach towels to Borah Pool, Fairmont Pool, Ivywild Pool and the Natatorium and Hydrotube. If you’re a season passholder, you can book your time in advance by registering here.

The Swim Team Clinic program for youth will also be available with some capacity restrictions. Learn more about the modified program here.
