Boise aeronauts will take to the skies once again this year.
The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic, which was first introduced nearly 30 years ago, will lift off with some safety modifications on September 2 and continue through September 6 at Ann Morrison Park.
Details are still being ironed out, but event organizers will ensure the family-friendly event is accessible and safe to anyone who wants to join.
Created by Scott and Laura Spencer, the free event is designed to uplift spirits and bring families together. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s welcome news for all of us in the community.
The event features a full spectrum of colors that fill up the morning sky. The hot air balloons can be seen soaring over downtown Boise, some of which will land near historic landmarks, rooftops, or even the front lawn at the Capitol building.
It’s quite a spectacle! Don’t forget to take plenty of pictures and videos because it’ll be a memorable day. Bring your lawn chair so you can sit back and enjoy the music and the spectacular views of the soaring hot air balloons.
In previous events, free tethered rides were available on select days along with meet and greets with the talented aeronauts. Check out the official Spirit of Boise website to learn more details as they become available.
