There’s never a shortage of fun things to do in and around Boise! Fill up your calendar with these fun fall events to partake in local fun all month long.
Walkabout Boise, Oct. 5 Take in 150 years of rich Boise history and architecture while you stroll through downtown Boise. Every Saturday, you’re invited on a walking tour to celebrate the local buildings, businesses and scenery that makes our community so special. Meet in front of the Basque Museum and prepare to fall in love with Boise all over again.
Fall Harvest Festival, Oct. 5-6 Fall has arrived and that calls for a weekend-long celebration. Stop by the family-friendly festival to get educated at the “Vegucation Station,” take a stroll through the “Scarecrow Stroll” and wine and dine on local food and varietals. A market will be set up to shop and support local artisans both days of the event.
The Great Downtown Pumpkin Festival, Oct. 19 Kick off Halloween with a celebration of pumpkins: a pumpkin-carving contest, giant pumpkin weigh-off, pumpkin pie-eating contest, pumpkin race and more. In between pumpkin festivities join the Downtown Wine and Walk and shop local vendors.
Grilled Cheese and Beer Fest, Oct. 26 Did someone say grilled cheese? Combine a cheesy sandwich classic with a refreshing brew, and you’ve got yourself a fun-filled and delicious afternoon. Fest-goers will get unlimited samplings of grilled cheese and beer and, with an upgraded “Big Cheese” ticket, will get additional access to an open bar and VIP area. Yum!
Idaho Gourd Festival, Oct. 27 Join the Idaho Gourd Society to celebrate 20 years of all things gourd. This year’s theme is “Gourds of Ancient Cultures” and the Society will be celebrating the beauty of gourds with gourd artwork, a gourd art competition, kids activities, silent auction and other gourd-filled fun for the whole family.
